Women Veterans Immediate Financial Needs Assistance Program

The Online Financial Needs Assistance Application Form


Texas is home to one of the largest populations of Veterans in the country. Often times, Veterans and their families work closely with local nonprofit and government organizations to help address a variety of specific needs. To assist in that connection and help address the unique financial challenges that a Veteran may face, Texas Veterans Commission's fund for Veterans Assistance has made it possible for Grace After Fire to provide the Women Veterans Basic Financial Needs Assistance program. This program is available to women Veterans from any era, branch of service, discharge status and reside in one of the qualifying counties.


The Women Veterans Immediate financial need assistance program provides financial assistance to qualifying veterans that have exhausted all other means of support. The fund is available to qualifying Veterans.
Each Veteran is eligible for a maximum one time annual financial immediate needs support:

  • Rent
  • Mortgage
  • Gas Bill
  • Electric Bill
  • Water Bill


Women Veterans who served in United Armed Forces or in the National Guard on federal active duty under Title 10, US CODE of any era, peace time, served in any branch and who is now discharged with any one of the five character service discharges: general, honorable, other than honorable, bad conduct and dishonorable, medically.

Currently resides in one of the following counties: Brazoria, Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Liberty, Waller, Galveston, Bexar, Comal, Hays, Guadalupe.

Veteran Dependents: A Veteran dependent includes a current spouse or unmarried child (to include a biological, legally adopted, or step child under the age of 18, or between the ages of 18 and 23 and attending school, or a child who was permanently and totally disabled before the age of 18) of all branches and of any era served; either previously separated years ago or recentlyseparated.
