The Refuge, a Healing Place

The Refuge - A Healing Place is a 50 bed adult residential treatment facility for Addictions and PTSD/Trauma. The Refuge prides itself on being one of the foremost facilities to specialize in the very unique needs of PTSD and trauma survivors.

The Refuge is located on 50 acres of maintained woodlands and surrounded by the Ocala National Forest.

The Refuge accommodates men and women.

Our Program and Curriculum includes:

• Both gender separate and combined groups
• Individual and group therapy
• Experiential and Process Therapy
• Individualized therapy with therapists available most evenings
• Trauma Resolution Centered therapy
• Specific Core Specialties such as: S.E., Psycho-drama; R.A.D.(Rape Aggression Defense); Hypnotherapy, EDA groups and meetings, SLA groups and meetings in addition to Equine Therapy, Yoga, Supervised exercise, Art Therapy in addition to outings and other modes of therapy.
• The Refuge has a Case Management Department that specializes in Legal Issues, Medical referrals, Child Advocacy, Aftercare Coordination, Research and Planning.
• All clinical staff continues to attend nationally recognized training events, attend supervision and stay current with trends and research in the field.
• The Refuge is compliant with all aspect of California Department of Alcohol and Drug Standards
• The Refuge provides shared rooms in spacious, well appointed cottages, decorated for a home-like environment.
• Smoking is allowed in specific areas on our property and we do have a Smoking Cessation Program available for our clients.
• Our Average Length of Stay is 90 Days.
• All Discharge Planning occurs as part of every client's treatment planning; The Refuge boasts having very active alumni nationally that, in many cases, are available to speak and meet with current clients to help with discharge planning. The Refuge has a number of Alumni events that occur on property and on-line, always trying to maintain contact and provide whenever needed.
