just a quick request for thoughts and prayers...
my omi (who is actually my aunt's mom but a wonderful lady who i am very close with) has been given approximately six months to live...
she has spots on her brain, lungs and ribs, and is going through the radiation/chemo process now. it is, however, incurable in the end.
she is an amazingly strong, fiesty, german-new yorker, so you can imagine her strength and stubborness! she is a fighter...

im pretty sure that for my late twenties, i am not supposed to be tired every day of my damn life...
it is the most draining thing and yet i have no clue - absolutely none - on how to get beyond it...
sleep, next to my loved ones, is the most cherished thing in my life; but i never feel caught up - which i do know is not fully possible. but rested...cant i just feel rested for a day?!
so here i am - reaching out for tips, tricks and anything else that...

hello ladies...
so as many of you know, i had a dear friend seriously injured in iraq last year - he had both legs amputated and continues his road to recovery.
the following is a recent post he placed on his caringbridge web site - i wanted to share as it provides a great deal of hope and perspective....
"So many of the people that I have met over the past week tell me how amazed that they are that my family and I have kept such a positive attitude...

well, my road to recovery continues...
i was yelled at during my last doc appt thursday - i was told to get over my "army mentality" that pain meds make me weak. needless to say i had stopped taking them, but am now back on them around the clock as he directed... i need to manage the pain to be able to push my knee further and further. it is working, but that dang vicadin sure does make me want to sleep during work...
well i no longer have the 8-10 hour machine....

well today was my first day back at work in two weeks - been recovering from my knee surgery...so long cabin fever!
for some ungodly reason, i woke up at 245 this morning with my leg aching. i couldnt go back to sleep, which royally sucked, so right now i am running on fumes!
