How do I start a fresh thread under Women Veterans? Someone posted a way off topic into my Claims area where no one is going to respond. She said she didn't know how to start a thread. I haven't figured it out either. But the thread would be called "Fee-Basis Non VA Care discussion" Thanks! :-)

Hello Chica! It's me, rv1978semperfi. I'm finally able to come on and see how some of my gals are doing. How are things with you?

As for me, my husband and I made it through the tough patches and I have to admit we are much stronger then before. My head is in a cloud at times but that is because I'm still in school and stressing over my grades and the family at the same time. I'm back in couceling both group and individual and I can say it's helping me out. My counceler is a sweet heart and is patient and kind. She is so nice. I'm going to be apart of a clothesline project here in my area. I will paint a shirt with everything that happend to me and hang it in our downtown area. I see it as a spiritual thing by leting it go and finally moving forward. Enough about me, I want to hear from you. Hope to hear from you soon.

Laura - It's SgtSusie here again....still hanging in there. My last semester of school has been kickin' my butt!! I graduate on May 15th -will be so glad to have school in my rear view mirror!!! I still am waiting for a possible meds adjustment -but doc isn't going to do it until my thyroid number goes down - it was 16.2 -it's dropped to 11.3 -but normal is 3.2-3.8 - I have a hypoactive thyroid -underactive -which causes weight gain, depression, being tired all the time - GREAT huh? More shit I don't need to deal with!!! Any who - just thought I'd drop in and say THANKS for reaching out to so many of the ladies on this website!!! You are a blessing to ME and to all here at GAF!!!!

Thank you so much. Apologies for the dealy in responding. I have been uncharacteristically scattered since I got back last year, and just now feel like I am gettng it back together.

My number one concern has been anonyminity. I don;t want to be recognized, so I am loathe to post.

Laura - thank you for your words of encouragement. I am still feeling way down - but I'm seeing my psychiatrist this week - hoping that a meds adjustment will start to adjust my mental health soon!! God's blessings to you my friend!

I thought this year was going to be the year for me. My husband got the new job he was hoping to get, we got to hear from our son who is stationed in Korea, I was able to visit my family in Florida, my husband and I quit smoking, and my dog that was overly aggressive and antisocial was going to be retrained professionally. Yep things were going good. The most wonderful news is that my husband has been reunited with his father whom he hasn’t seen in over 36 years. You see, my husband was born...

My visit to Florida to see my family went well, but how happy I am to be back. I missed you ladies and hope that you all are doing ok. One of my hobbies is building dollhouses so this trip landed me a bunch of furniture and building stuff from my mom who started me on the hobby. My mother has made over 20 dollhouses or room displays, while I'm only working on my third. I also got to visit the Naval air museum in Pensacola and wow was that interesting. Anyway, had a good time and the road trip...

Just want to let everyone know that I will be off the site for about a week as I travel south to visit my family in Florida. You will all be in my thoughts as I head toward a wonderful escape from everyday life. Looking forward to getting back on here as soon as I return. Take care.

Well, it happened to me again. I got too wordy and got logged out as I was writing this blog. I'll try and be less wordy this time. Well, this funk thing has had a hold on me and not sure what is going on, but I am back again and hoping to stay on this time. I have missed you all and hope you are all well. As for me, I am doing fine and want to share that I have been smoke free for 1 1/2 months and am feeling better than I have in a long time. Now if I can just shed these extra pounds that...

So sorry that I've been away. I got in a little funk and still have not totally gotten out of it. I have been visiting with my youngest son for the 2 1/2 weeks before he had to fly to Korea where he is now stationed. For those that don't remember, He was in basic and then AIT and then on leave to visit with us before showing up to his first duty station. As a mom of a soldier, It still worries me for him to be out on his own and overseas for the first time in his short life (18 years). Anyway,...
