Grace After Fire Receives Fundingfrom Arlington Woman's ClubLocal non-profit helps women Veterans transition from battlefield to community
(Fort Worth, Texas) Kimberly Olson, Colonel, USAF (ret) and executive director of Grace After Fire, has announced that the Arlington Woman's Club raised over $33,000 to support Grace After Fire's work with women Veterans. The Club will formally hand over the funds during a special presentation scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012, during the Arlington Woman's Club's general meeting to be held at 1515 W. Abram in Arlington.
"We are so honored that the Arlington Woman's Club chose Grace After Fire as their philanthropy," stated Kim Olson. "It's particularly exciting to have such a genuine, grass roots effort yield these amazing results just weeks before Texas celebrates its first ever Women Veterans Month this March."
Catherine Hopkins (Philanthropy Chair, AWC) headed the 600-member Club that began work on the project in August of 2011, culminating in an annual philanthropy dinner November 12, 2011. Themed the "Red White and Blue Evening," the fund raiser entertained over 400 guests who enjoyed celebrating Veterans Day with music, food, a raffle, and live and silent auctions.
"It's a gratifying way for AWC to express our support and thanks to these brave women," said Mrs. Hopkins.
The November event proceeds will be used to match other grant funding. For more information about the check presentation event, contact Kathy Hughes, at the Arlington Woman's Club, 817-277-7666.
