Default You are not alone.

The articles really hit home. I was in Iraq dec05-dce06. I had eight women and 6 guys in our detachment. It was very lonely for me. I was the high ranking female and the other femalesjust did their own thing. The guys were like my sons. But I became lonely half way through my deployment and decided to make some friends. I made one that was not a good one. He would stalk me and finally 2 weeks before he left, he got me in his room and did the deed. I felt very betrayed. There was no one I could tell close to me. And of course it would have been my fault, for going to the shower by myself. Coming home was hard. I could't explain why I needed so much therapy. But I need it for more than one reason. Talking online helps me to vent, especially since you guys know how itis. Thanks for that. We need to make friends online here. I have a feeling that it cold lead to real friendship.

hey blueeyes! definitely think this site would be a wonderful place for friendship - especially as a women vet...not sure about y'all, but my friends from the military are few and far between...and not only that, but they are spread across the world due to the nature of the military...relating to others is harder than hell...

what did you do in iraq? something medical related i take it?! and what rank were you?

i was an e-5, but my roomie was an e-7 and most of my friends are officers or higher enlisted...i served as a photojournalist - amazing, yet difficult job. i was in iraq from 06-08, in the most volatile area of our time. 110 killed...shit ton wounded. no good.

i am sorry to hear about your experience - while i had people try different things - to include a first sergeant when i was an e-4, no one was ever successful, thank god! while i dont have issues from MST, there are definitely a fair share of issues i do struggle with from all the other crap that comes along with it....

keep on typing away - it is amazing how healing it has been...

hollar when you can!
