Default health care lacking for female vets

That has been going on for decades. All we seem to do is talk about it But nothing realy gets done to make the care better. Show me an organization that does that and I will join it. I just em fed up with just talk. Male vet s do this. Female vets do this. No body seems to understand that the status quo of bad health care continues. It takes a march to change that .

Default Swan

This organization seems to be dealing with some very real issues. Grace After Fire tells it like it is too. I also see a march which was rather neat to see. I try to let other women and female vets who are interrested in taking this kind of marching action the word. I do not think anything will change untill some serious marching action is taken and law suites. Homeless women are given lip service because the VA thinks we are not capable of filing a tort for damages for their refusal of services and not funding us for housing.

Default Educate from with in

Why don't we start by educating from within and have an advocacy center on base. What I mean educate from within, I mean start from before they graduate out of bootcamp. I know for me the DI's would tell us things like "Oh yea you will have every man at your feet" and "you don't have to pay a dime cause the men will buy you everything." They should of educated us on the sexual harrassment, the gender discrimination, and how to make the chain of command work for us in case we did get violated. Why can't they educate the woman and men on that stuff then the other way?

Thumbs down I. AM. Strong Army campaign

The Army has stepped up and showing leadership.

First, read this article and then below is the actual "I. AM. Strong" Campaign.
I'm posting two of it's media components. Those are the
"I. AM. Strong" rap song..... crank up your sound girls!!!
and then the 7 minute mini-document filled with Army women
describing MST and calling out the commanders who do nothing.
You all are going to be pleasantly surprised.

www.army.mil/-news/2010/03/31/36606-i-am-strong-concert-rocks-the-house/

Here is the rap
U.S. Army Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program
And the mini-doc is "Band of Brothers and Sisters"
U.S. Army Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program

I know there are cynics out there, but I'd like to hear what y'all
think. Especially since this thing is going on the road.

I am amazed at the Army's willingness to make this first step forward. Being stationed in Germany during Vietnam, I can tell you that no one, no one ever reported MST because we knew that we would be discharged and nothing would happen to the perp. I do believe that it will take a long time to reach the commander
levels but cultural-shaping in the ranks can really help our sister veterans. Thanks for letting us know about the campaign.

It's a first step. Thanks for your response!

If anyone has the time to email this I. AM. Strong Campaign address out to all your peeps...I suggest mailing it as BCC: so everyoe thinks they are the only one you mailed to..... because, my peronal opinion folks, I don't like to be one of 50 people getting the same email. Fool me, please. :-D
