Hello,

I entered the AF through the delayed enlistment program my junior year of high school. Went to basic training at Lackland AFB, Tech school at Shepard AFB, then stationed at Offutt AFB for the rest of my career. I served from 1993 to 2001. My career field was Health Information Management (HIM). Though the MST ruined my life and career in the AF...it did not ruin my love for the HIM career field. In the civilian sector I am still active in promoting, implementing and maintaning the electronic health record in health care facilities. I am currently working on my 5th college degree (Master's in Health Informatics).

In regards to my PTSD and recurring depression, I find it helpful to stay busy in my intellectual mind in order to avoid dwelling on my thoughts of my emotional mind which only causes me to fall enter a deeper depression. I think this is what drives me to stay busy with work and school. Though I continue to have challenges balancing my past with the present.
