About Grace After Fire

Woman SoldierOur Mission
The mission of Grace After Fire is to provide the means for women Veterans to gain knowledge, insight and self-renewal.

Our Motto
We serve to protect the woman Veteran, connect the woman Veteran and renew the woman Veteran.

Our Vision
To help women Veterans help themselves.

This Texas-based 501(c) 3 has been serving Veterans since 2008 and provides access to crisis support services for women Veterans and their family members. At Grace we believe women Veterans are the core of the family unit and is a powerful force multiplier for the wellness of the spouse, children and extended family. We accomplish this goal through the work of seven full time staff, all but two are Veterans.

Grace's outreach program currently puts "boots (heels) on the ground" through the work of women Veterans in dozens of Texas counties located in north, central, and south Texas regions. A Call Network is provided for women Veteran support and resource referrals. This toll-free number refers callers to the appropriate agencies and relies upon these services to determine the eligibility of the clients for the services requested. Social Media is a key component of Grace's communication and education outreach with a presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

Grace's dedicated staff, comprised of women Veterans from all branches of the military, coordinates services, provides peer-to-peer support to individual Veterans in the community and raises awareness, and training within the Veteran community.

Grace After Fire's program, Table Talk™: Color Me Camo, serves as a peer support system designed specifically for women Veterans. Table Talk™ focuses on gender specific aspects through structured interaction with trained facilitators and fellow peers while identifying and addressing barriers women Veterans face on the path to positive change. The program provides educational materials and activities that promote self-knowledge, self-understanding, self-development and self-renewal for the woman Veteran. The purpose of the program is for peers to help peers with the objective to get Veterans well by talking to each other and to establish a bond amongst the Veterans in their local areas. Results of the program will be healthy women, healthy families, and healthy communities.

GRACE is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. We rely on the philanthropic support of individuals, corporations, foundations, and state funding to help us provide our services so vital to our Veterans' lives.

Grace After Fire honors the sacrifices of our women who have served our country, the commitment and dedication of those who care for our wounded service members every day, and the United States' responsibility to stand by our troops, our Veterans, and their families.
